The best professor I had at the University of Michigan. By far. Still think about the impact he had on me to this very day
Oliver my uncle
Great introductory video! Where can I find more information about the aerodynamics of bird and insect flight?
Cazzie is my favorite of all time
Kudos to the University to having the insight to taping this brilliant man. What a wonderful experience it is to hear him, and how lucky those were to have been able to have been educated by him. At least he lives on here.
Marilyn assisted me with interpreting a Pachelbel Fugue and a Buxtehude Toccata years ago during one of my visits to the organ department at UMich. We used the 3-manual Reuter in her studio. I remain grateful to her assisting me in some Baroque points of interpretation. R. Ditewig
take care of that cataloge.

I was so lucky to have had him teaching "The Bible as Literature." What a treasure he is.
Great upload great channel. We as a race of beings have continually refused to follow spiritual principles in this existence and thus our materialistic approach will reap what it has sown. If you would like to expand your knowledge and have an open mind on how this has all come about , get your hands on a little book called " The thief in the night " by William Sears .
This is to fast
If you take your critical faculties serious read The Beginning of Infinity and The Fabric of Reality By David Deutsch about what explanatory knowledge is. Or go to the website Constructor Theory. The recognition of an objective reality to which our knowledge corresponds to is the generic power of science. An impersonal way to explain the world is possible because reality is explicable in the cosmic scheme of things. We can explain the world but explanations or solutions are not self evident in the bushes or rocks or whatever. Creativity is the capacity to create new explanations from the seemingly messy disconnected world. We cannot know where all the errors in our knowledge are because infinite ignorance is a precondition for unlimited new knowledge. So we should always stay creative in looking for misconceptions to correct them in order to make progress. Loving problems! The Origen of knowledge is via bold guesses fallowed by bold criticism. An alternation of conjectures and criticism is enjoyable. “We can let our ideas die in our place” - Karl Popper “People are not a figure in the landscape. People the shapers of the landscape” Jacob Bronowsky So we are not here to praise the know but to criticize it and transform it. Our knowledge is information ( computable ) that transcends the physical system ( constructor ) in which is embodied. We are universal explanators in an unbounded reality.

A living legend.
This lady has since passed but what a legacy this great lady gave to the organ profession.
This is going to sound ridiculous, but I'm trying to find a way to contact Marilyn or her family. My grandmother, Jacqualyn Mason, just found out that her Aunt Marilyn is still alive and I'm trying to find a way for Granny to be able to talk to her. I'm leaving this comment in case it somehow ends up being seen by someone who can help. My name is Terra Birdsall, my Granny and I reside in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and my email address is medliwen@hotmail.com.
Unfortunately, Marilyn passed away in June 2019.
I wish I could have taken a class with him.
wow! Hit me right in the heart and open my mind broadly.
I want this done to like an aphex twin song or something
One of the best contributor of positive pschycology along with Martin saligment. He is no more to speak to us. N.c.rakshit.
Let's get a move on doc, my HSP isn't going to heal it self, and at 65 I'm running out of time to wait...
what if the ship is loaded with cargo?? will the water be restricted??
Dr. Mason is a bundle of energy, still teaching (as far as I know). I studied organ with her more than 50 years ago, and still count her among my dearest friends. I've returned to Michigan for her organ teachers' seminars in the summers, for several years. But not in the past 10 years or so because of my own aging.
Is Marilyn Mason living today?
Chesterbarnes1 She is. She is 91 now.
@@Kippsky45 Died today, 04/04/2019. May she rest in peace.

It's great to see this across the professional health science schools. At the undergraduate level here at UM Ann Arbor we have a residential learning community and a two-term course, along with job shadowing and professional autobiography speakers from the health care professions, with Dr. Helen Kang Morgan as director. Our program is also focused on the interdisciplinarity of health care, tailored for first year students interested in health science careers - It's the Health Sciences Scholars Program - Check it out! www.lsa.umich.edu/hssp - Marjorie Horton, College of LSA, Undergraduate Education
We went to see this when the stalk first made its way through the roof of the building last summer. So fascinating and yet sad that it meant the plant's life was now over after 80 years.
... And they did with the great reed ...? in Mexico it is given the name "Quiote" has a cooking process and is intended for human consumption ... Cheers ... !!!
Good to see you again and see some of your talented presentations. Its very well done and greatly appreciated. You did GOOD! God bless you good. Jim & Lou Bard
Have played this game everyday for 10 months, 20 mins a day and the whole point of the game is to play it intuitively without using chunking techniques, I have managed to reach 8 back with a maximum score of 75% without chunking, The one effect I experienced was that I had by far better dream recall ,other than that I have experienced absolutely no other noiceable effect, my short term and long term memory is still pretty poor, my verbal skills are still the same, my already decent mathematical ability is still the same.IMO its not worth it and it is excruciatingly boring.
Just if standard black hole wasn't scary enough...There is Blazar for ya!...yup...Universe is a big pile of dangerous junk!...
Beautiful! I remember hearing about Geri Allen in my jazz studies course at Howard University with Arthur Dawkins and Lorraine Faxio! Love to hear her play live it's amazing!
hey I'm in this video
I enjoy driving. This would only make an already slothenly fat population worse, soon we'll all look like the people from Wall-E.
Anonymau5 Very true, which is something we will both have to deal with (I am a great fan of travelling and I enjoy driving, cycling, flying, all of it!), but I do feel like it is a small price to pay for prosperity, less injury and death and more accessible travel for all. I will reluctantly pay that price and cherish my memories of "back when we drove our cars ourselves".
Elmer van der Vlugt I feel the price is far too high. The solution is fine for those who like it. For those like me, it's someone ripping a part of ourselves out of us. To me, a car is more than an appliance that is just to be replaced when it wears out. A sad world we will live in when this comes to be.
These are the great inventions, not sophisticated devices but the simpler ones :)
this video is so good.... i watched it like 10 times in a row #goblue
amazing
Where is the FDA on this? These cigarettes must be regulated and TAXED to DEATH!
Awesome . A friend I know has a traveling dance program to do the same / sorta. Art and spirituality dance hand in hand on the finer strands of our delicate minds to formulate the smile from and for a frowning clown.

The electricity that operates a small motor or lights up LED bulbs 40 at the same time is not ‘Free-Energy’, it’s purely ‘Vibrational Energy’ and very powerful. 진동발전, vibration generator Perhaps it will be very useful to the renewable energy.
